Alexandria has a long, proud history of providing facilities, classes, parks, community centers, and other recreational opportunities for its citizens. Children need recreation, too, and to date there is not one city facility in Alexandria that is designed for preschoolers. As the city starts to identify and create opportunities for young children, this facility would be a great start.

Small children need a safe, specially-designed place to explore, get physical without the risk of getting hurt, and develop gross motor skills, social skills, classroom readiness, and other important skills. The proposed soft playroom fits the bill, and, as parents, we want to do what we can to enrich our children’s recreational and life experiences.
