For more information, email us at softplayroom@gmail.com An update on funds raised so far Thanks for coming to The Great Zucchini in April and our Arts & Crafts Fundraiser in March. Once all the pledges come in from the phone-a-thon, we will have raised over $18,000, a great achievement for a volunteer parent group. Many, many thanks to our generous donors, with special recognition to The Natural Exploreum, The Donmoyer Family, Jack Taylor, The Krupicka Family, and Jaguar Development. We are still far away from our goal of raising $50,000 by June 30th, but we should soon have enough money to install flooring, one of our big ticket items. If you know of grants, corporations, local businesses, or matching programs that can help us come closer to our goal, we would love to hear from you! We'll be reaching out aggressively to the Alexandria business community in the coming weeks and are eager for help. What is the Soft Playroom? The Soft Playroom is an indoor playroom for children ages 0-5. It is being developed by a group of parents and the non-profit Natural Exploreum. The space and its maintenance have been graciously donated by the City of Alexandria… …but private funds are needed to purchase soft toys, padding, flooring, and to make room improvements.
