On November 1, 2009, the Alexandria Soft Playroom will officially open for business. We could not have done this without the help of our volunteers, our generous contributors and the City of Alexandria. Take a look at what the layout looks like. And come to celebrate with us on November 1st! The ribbon cutting is at 2 p.m. at Chinquapin Recreation Center. Fall 2009 Update We've officially raised nearly $30,000! For two years, community members gave generously. We thank you! If you would like to continue to make contributions, the City of Alexandria is now taking donations through its Living Landscape Fund, which is part of Alexandria's Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Activities. What is the Soft Playroom? The Soft Playroom is an indoor playroom for children ages 0-5. It has been developed by a group of parents and the non-profit Natural Exploreum.
